Welcome to Columbia Aerial Fitness! We’re excited to have you in our community. This handbook outlines expectations so everyone can enjoy a safe, respectful, and fun environment.
Studio Etiquette & Space Rules
Arrive on time and be ready to participate. Late arrivals may not be able to join warm-ups.
Shoes off upon entering the training space.
Food and drinks are welcome in the lounge/waiting area but not on the training floor or near equipment.
Respect the equipment, the space, and each other. No gum or jewelry on apparatuses.
Do not use equipment outside of your scheduled class. Independent training is considered Open Studio time and must be registered separately.
Students must listen to and respect all instructors, even if they are not in that instructor’s class. All staff have the authority to enforce safety and studio rules.
Each instructor has their own individual late policy. Students who will be late should message their instructor in the Wix App to let them know how late they may be to class as soon as they are aware.
Classroom Engagement
Be open to feedback from instructors — corrections are for your safety and progress.
Respect others’ learning process: no teaching or critiquing peers. Our insurance only covers instruction from employees.
Please ask questions, we want to make sure you understand what we are teaching.
Supportive, encouraging attitudes are expected. Harassment or disruptive behavior is not tolerated.
Students are not permitted to be on the apparatus while an instructor is demonstrating a skill.
Recording & Social Media
Each instructor has the right to set their own recording rules.
Students must ask instructors if they can be record the instructor while teaching. Students can record themselves. Students who share videos of thier instructors teaching will immediately be removed from the program.
Do not post photos or videos of other students or instructors without their consent.
Recording must never disrupt the flow of class.
Open Gym Policy
Open Gym is for practicing skills already taught to you in class at your level.
Students may not attempt to learn skills off Instagram, YouTube, or other social media platforms during Open Gym.
For safety reasons, instructors or peers may not be asked to “spot” new, unapproved moves during Open Gym.
Communication & Problem-Solving
If you have a concern, bring it to management, not to other students or instructors.
Injuries, limitations, or discomfort should be communicated to your instructor before class begins. Students may be required to take time off from aerial if they experience soft tissue or neurological symptoms such as herniated discs.
Feedback about the services you receive should always be directed to the studio owner.
If you have questions about the curriculum structure, teaching progression, or business operations, please contact the studio owner directly. Instructors may not have adequate knowledge or authority to provide accurate information about these areas.
While we welcome feedback, students are expected to respect professional boundaries. The structure, pricing, and operation of Columbia Aerial Fitness are determined by management and are not open for student debate or direction. We welcome respectful feedback about your experience as a student, but decisions regarding how the business is run are made by professionals with the appropriate expertise and oversight.
Attendance & Cancellations
We do not currently charge for no-shows or late cancellations. However, if this becomes a pattern across the studio, a no-show fee may be introduced.
Please cancel as early as possible if you cannot attend so others may take your spot.
Safety First
Warm-ups are required. Skipping puts you at risk of injury.
Listen carefully to spotting instructions and equipment guidelines.
If you feel pain or discomfort, stop and alert your instructor immediately.
Disciplinary Steps
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, the following steps may be taken if policies are not followed:
1. Verbal Warning— Instructor or management addresses the behavior.
2. Written Warning — Documentation of the issue, shared with the student.
3. Temporary Suspension — Student may not participate for a set period of time.
4. Removal from Program — For repeated or severe violations, enrollment may be terminated without refund.
